Quick Look running order

When I use Quick Look and the Play chevron to view a series of images, it now shows them to me in reverse order: ie instead of starting with image (1) and running through to image (5), it now insists on starting with image (5) and running backwards to image (1). I've obviously inadvertently changed a setting somewhere. What do I do please to revert to a (1) to (5) running order?

Check the list view sort order setting of the folder in which the images are stored.

For example, if the images are listed ascending alphabetically vs descending alphabetically.

That's great, DI Johnson. Thank you. I have discovered, though, that I have to stay in List View to get the correct (1) to (5) running order. If I select the sort order I want in List View but then choose one of the other viewing options, the running order automatically reverts to (5) to (1). I'm guessing this is just how the iMac works, yes?
