Airpods pro distortion

I have had my AirPods pro for less than a month and I’m starting to notice significant distortion in my right AirPod. This is more obvious when noise canceling or transparency mode is active. I think this has something to do with the microphone that is listening inside the ear but also when I did a test with a frequency generator I also got distortion in just the right AirPod with the noise cancellation turned off. Is my right AirPod just defective? Also the noise canceling has tendency to go out of phase in strange ways.
