Hello brigitte83.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

If I'm understanding correctly, you are unable to listen to songs from your own music collection while traveling abroad. I will be glad to assist.

What happens when you attempt to listen to the music? Is there an error message? Was the music downloaded to your iPhone for offline play or just to your computer?

The songs may not be available in this country if your are attempting to stream. Please see the following regarding Apple Music from this resource:

Add and download music from Apple Music or the iTunes Store

Cheers.

The music is from my own CD downloaded to itune and synchronised to my iphone.

Some of the are shown in grey on my library when I am in France and if I try to ply tham I get an error message that they are no available in that country. YET they are frommy OWN CDs!

I could just about understand if I had been downloading from apple but from my own purchased CDS... it seems a most unfair trading practice!

ANd one of the CDs is of a French singer ...
