My apple TV stops and goes black when I adjust the volume via my receiver

Has anyone had this problem? How have you fixed it?

My apple TV is connected both to the TV for video and speakers for audio through a receiver. Every time I adjust the volume via the receiver, Apple TV goes black, pausing the video during the glitch, then restarting after a few seconds. I exchanged the apple TV device for a new one and the same thing happens. What's going on?

Hello,

Apple TV's copyright protection system could be activating. Try unplugging the HDMI lead from the back of the Apple TV and from the back for your TV then plug it back in to see if it resolves your problem.
