MAC Address Spoofing

Inb4 I need to spoof my MAC address on an iPhone

Due to the new AI Facebook has to identify alt accounts using your MAC Address and browsing data patterns, I’ve had all 4 of my accounts shut down for saying the word “Canadian”. I received a 30 day post block, as well as losing the ability to video call my girlfriend.

Well I’d like to make a new account to manage my communities with thousands of members but the only way I can ensure this account doesn’t get taken down as well is to spoof my MAC address and change the way I browse, as well as mask my location (IP address).

Due to apple’s disdain for third party apps I can’t download software that will help me do this.

I’m looking for some sort of tech genius to help me with this, because I literally just want to see my girlfriend’s face again and I don’t want to wait.

My email address is ****@ gmail.com if you can help me in my fight against this first amendment hating tech giant.

The hardware MAC address doesn’t make it off the local network. Not via the network connection. That’s not how IP works. The adjacent IP router(s) in the path will have a map of the associated MAC addresses, but not a remote router, server, nor client.

Apple blocks apps from accessing the hardware MAC address on iOS 11 and later. Apps were (mis)using the MAC address for user tracking. Local apps were collecting that MAC address data—and presumably other data—to generate a unique identity, and which was not permissible under the App Store requirements. For instance:

Apps should not attempt to surreptitiously build a user profile based on collected data and may not attempt, facilitate, or encourage others to identify anonymous users or reconstruct user profiles based on data collected from Apple-provided APIs or any data that you say has been collected in an “anonymized,” “aggregated,” or otherwise non-identifiable way.

As for your stated goal of chatting remotely, available alternatives include iMessage/FaceTime, Signal, and other messaging services.

Assistance in bypassing the Apple App Store guidelines, or of reverse-engineering and/or bypassing Facebook account requirements and/or related detection processing, is well outside of what’s permissible around here, too.

ummmm the vast majority of the apps in the App store are 3rd party.

Your rant is about iOS sandboxing, Apps are required to be compliant with Apple's approach to security.

This would be why spoofing your MAC address is not likely something that will get approved for the app store.

Best of luck with that.

You're here asking the community to help you hide from an online service you've been banned from.

Is that right?

And I've requested your email address be removed. Posting it here is not wise.

Thank you for your insight, this was the most helpful resolution. I’m using google duo to video call and I just decided the best way to protest is to delete the apps entirely. It just **** that I run (ran) an entire community on there that I have to say goodbye to. But until they fix the bot’s determination of what is bannable and what isn’t, I’m just going to have to wait it out. I’m on a 6s I bought recently, because I like to use an aux cord and charge my phone at the same time. But I may just give in and upgrade for that added safety.
