I deleted an email account from my phone without realizing some of my contacts were attached to it and not my main iCloud user ID. I lost all of those contacts and they don't seem to be backed up anywhere. Is it possible to get them back?

Was this an iCloud email address, or something else? If Gmail, go to the Gmail website, most email providers have web access to a users account. That is where you need to log in to check for the contacts, not in iCloud.

Do you have access to this email account with a web browser on the computer? Did you try to add the account back to the iPhone to recover them?
I logged into the iCloud account for the deleted email address and no contacts were backed up there. Would there be a copy of them anywhere else? Or recoverable from the phone?
