skin irratations and itchy ears from powerbeats pro wireless

Recently purchased power beats pro wireless and from the moment I started using them.I noticed itching in my inner ear, and where the hooks sit on the top of your ear.My right ear also has some drainage from the inner ear. How many others have this same experience.I’ve read on other websites that quite a few people are also experiencing the same problem and if Apple is going to back there product?

I had exactly the same issue. Although to took a while to develop. Probably 2-3 months of regular use. Now if I wear for 30 mins I get the symptoms and have to avoid using for a week for them to clear up.

i solved this by replacing the tips with those from a 3rd party. I found a company called Comply who make replacement tips for many different headphones. I think the main selling point is they are made from a special foam that gives great sound benefits as well as comfort. I ordered a set, I am in the UK so they took a few weeks to arrive. I have to say I have been impressed. They take a while to get used to. However I have had no reaction, so I am back using my Powerbeats pro without issue.

Squad0070 says that the Airpods Pros haven't caused the same skin reaction, so I guess it's different for each person. I was thinking of getting some Airpods Pros (APPs), but now with alastair284's experience I'm not so sure. But hey, they're "only" CDN$249; maybe I should just give them a whirl anyway, and if they drive my ears crazy, I could give them to a friend for Christmas. :) Btw, like many of you, I bought the PBPs because of the ear hooks, and I've discovered that there are at least 2 brands of detachable ear hooks that can be used with the APPs, so if I do buy some APPs I'll try them with those ear hooks and report back.

camry410, for many (even most) of us in this discussion, it is not only the tips that cause the reaction but rather the whole body of the PBPs, anywhere any part of the PBPs touch our skin in and around the ears. But I take your point, and I've been puzzled by this, too, right from the start — why does Apple not seem to want to fix or at least publically acknowledge a known and not uncommon problem with a product that people say they love because of the great sound quality and the way the PBPs fit so securely and comfortably on our ears? Doesn't make sense. Perhaps Apple has become such a gigantic mega-corporation that it has lost any interest in attending to the "petty" concerns of its customers. Apple is a long, long way from its roots. Remember "Think Different"? It seems that Apple is thinking the same way all the other giant corporations are these days — it's all (and only) about the sacred bottom line. Sure, I got my danged refund for my PBPs, but what I really want is to be able to engage with a real human being at Apple, find out what is going on behind the scenes on this issue, and get a new pair of PBPs that doesn't drive my ears crazy! Is that asking too much? By its silence about all this, Apple is simply shooting itself in its corporate foot and alienating loyal customers like me (since 1992).

Has anyone had the same experience with the Powerbeats wireless headphones (not the Pros, the ones with the wire that goes behind your head) that have been purchased recently? Those were the headphones I used before trying the pros and never had an issue with them but I'm worried that they may have updated them to the same material as the Pros in the last couple years. Thanks for any information you can provide!

I have been having the same issue with Airpod Pro's. Had it for 8 months now but just started having the issue a few months back. Got replacement's when mine stopped working but it still was giving me this issue after a hour or so listening with them. I just bought the memory foam ear tips to see if that helps at all, and I hope it does because I enjoy the sound they give me when I do wear them.

I'd rather not spend an extra $200 just for contact points that don't cause contact dermatitis. Would appreciate Apple fixing the problem and I'd be happy to spend an extra few bucks for better buds. I didn't just react to the inserts in my ear but also where the loop that went over the ear to secure the headset contacted my skin.

This may be a good business opportunity for some clever company
