I don't have permission to update iPad.

I keep getting an error when I try to update and iPad. "There is a problem downloading the software for the iPad 'iPad Name'. You do not have permission to access the requested resource." is the message.

This just happened to me, after going through the ringer with chat and phone support I found this solution.


Disconnect from your wifi, and use your phone's hotspot (which is what I did), a Starbuck's Wifi, or go ask your neighbors for a temporary login if they have a different internet provider.


The reason this message popped up is because my internet modem has a security feature which blocked the download.


Once I connected to my phone's hotspot, 3 hours of torture turned into a 14 minute download.
