Radio stations with Tunein

Up until recently I’ve been able to get RTÉ radio stations on Apple Music supplied by tunein. They seem to have now disappeared. Has this service been stopped by Apple, tunein or RTE themselves? Stream is still available through the Tunein app but not Apple Music.

I was trying to ask Apple Music support about this issue, but they just don't understand. According to their reply, they are not aware that Apple Music lost many tunein.com imported radio stations yesterday. For example:

Radio Brezice Eu was listed in Apple Music yesterday and if I google for Radio Brezice Eu and Apple Music, their link is still in Google's index:

I was able to listen this radio station in all Apple Music apps (both on iOS and MacOS), however since yesterday I can't search for "Radio Brezice Eu" in Apple Music app, as I was able to:

Since Apple Music Support team reply started with: "Thanks for contacting us. I understand that you weren’t able to listen to a certain song the Apple Music Radio even though it is available. "

I see that I was not able to explain this issue correctly...

I have made some investigations and found out that not all tunein.com radio stations disappeared from Apple Music radio stations list, but unfortunately many of them did. I just hope that Apple Music team will realize that soon and fix what needs to be fixed.

I'm glad you mentioned this issue. I am experiencing the same problem with BR-KLASSIK, the classical channel of Bayerischer Rundfunk. (In fact, some of the other BR stations have similarly vanished, sometime between Sunday morning Jan 19 and Monday afternoon Jan 20 Eastern Time.) All of the stations in question are still active and streaming through the native TuneIn service (I'm a TuneIn Pro user) and via other channels, so it would seem that there is some disconnection in the "feed" of certain stations from TuneIn over to Apple Music.

I've sent a support request to TuneIn to investigate but I'm not hopeful. I'll try Apple Music support too, but fear I'll get an unknowing reply.

It's a pain, because I like listening to this station streaming on my Apple Watch LTE while power walking or biking, without the need to bring along my iPhone.

I also sent question to TuneIn broadcaster support and I hope I will get some response soon. They still have TuneIn & Apple announcement on their website: https://cms.tunein.com/press-release/tunein-and-apple-to-bring-global-slate-of-radio-stations-to-apple-music-and-all-siri-enabled-devices/

I hope this issue is temporary and I believe none, Apple nor TuneIn isn't aware of the issue. With 170.000 + radio stations, nobody will miss some 30.000 disappeared stations in Apple Music. Many Apple Music users don't know that there are TuneIn radio stations available in Apple Music since September 2019, so they also don't complain about it. Companies with many users show no concern for few complains. When there is 1 Million + complains, then they will know there must be some serious issue.

I am also afraid that Apple and TuneIn will not care about this issue any soon and I hope the issue will be fixed by itself in next TuneIn -> Apple Music data exchange.

Yesterday afternoon I submitted a support request to Apple. Via chat and voice, over about an hour, I was escalated (3 times!) to a senior engineer (I was told) who is associated with Apple Music. We did a screen share where I showed the missing radio stations on my iPhone (compared to TuneIn) and then she tried on her own iPhone and saw that the stations were gone. I provided the link to this Communities post and asked that the issue be escalated.

I don't know if my call made a difference, but 24 hours later, my favorites have all returned: BR-KLASSIK, BBC Radio 3, and various others.

I wish the mysterious outage hadn't happened in the first place, but I'm glad to see my favorite stations at least have been restored.
