F1 - F12 keys aren't working on my MacBook Air

So I don't know how recent this started happening, but all my function keys just don't work anymore. Nothing seems to be wrong, none are jammed, dirty, sticky, icky, etc. and the escape works fine. Help would be appreciated.

function keys not working I just had my MacBook battery replaced and they also changed the top case in the process. Now, when I press the "volume" keys or the "light" keys (basically any "function" key), none of them are working. They "lower volume" key (aka F11), removes all windows to show the desktop. I didn't change any keyboard configurations and haven't noticed anything strange when I check them in the "Settings / Keyboard".

Keys on Macbook Air (Early-2015) not working? Recently 5 of my keys on my Macbook stopped working out of the blue. They are the F12 key, squiggle key under ESC, the plus/equal key as well as both bracket keys. The keys register when I use an external keyboard but not when I use the actual built in keyboard on my laptop. I have tried everything from resetting all of my settings in System Preferences to trying to blow out potential dust/debris as well as resetting my SMC and NVRAM to no avail. If it is relevant, I did have some overheating issues for a while, but that issue never really did anything to my keyboard while it was happening. Is anyone else having this problem? Or does anyone have any other solutions I may not have tried yet? Thank you!

Certain keys don't work on MacBook Air (2017) Monterrey 12.1 Some keys don't work on my keyboard (tilde, equal, F12 volume up, left and right brackets, up arrow and right arrow). What I've tried so far: updating operating system, checking system preferences for accessibility, resetting the PRAM). I just inherited this computer, so I'm not sure how long they haven't been working. Thank you for any help--not being able to use the F12 volume up key is especially annoying.
