Syncing photos between iMac and MBP

Hi, Is there an easy way to automatically sync photos between my iMac and MBP without the need to store the pictures on iCloud?

Thanks

Without iCloud Photos you can only share the Photos Library on a portable drive, that you pplug into the Mac you are currently working with. That would require, that the same version of Photos is running on your two Macs. Only iCloud Photos can sync the Photos Library between two macs with different versions of Photos.
