trackpad noises

Device: 2019 macbook pro 16"

when holding the trackpad down for more than about 1 second in photoshop (selecting and erasing things) shortly after i release it then makes a buzzing/vibrating noise similar to however long i hold it down for so it can get quite irritating. this issue doesn't happen every time i use photoshop. When i restart my MacBook it stops but after a few days it will start again. i don't know if this is a software issue or if i should take it in for repairs. any replies help. Thank you.

Hi el_noodle4,

If you hold the trackpad down for more than one second in other apps, does it do the same thing?

My first thought would be to take a look at the article about trackpad settings just in case something in there, specifically force touch, may have a setting that can be changed. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204352

If the behavior is isolated to Photoshop and you can't reproduce it anywhere else, it may be a setting or conflict with the app itself. Reaching out to Adobe, either through the community or with a call or chat, may shed some light on the issue you're having.

If you can reproduce the behavior outside of Photoshop, calling in to the Mac+ department or taking it in to your local Apple Retail Store for troubleshooting certainly wouldn't hurt. Just make sure you've got a backup prior to troubleshooting.
