Battery charging icon

I think there is a problem with my MacBook, the icon showing if the Mac is charging, just using battery power or just power from the Power Adapter is alwas shows that the mac using on the power adater even when the Charger is not pluged in. I still charges but its anoying not knowing if the charging stopped and not getting a waring when my battery is getting too low.

i have trided resarting a cupple of times with no success.
