Dual Monitor Setup

Hi I have been trying do a dual external monitor setup. However, whenever I do connect to them, my Macbook display stays on and acts as a 3rd display. Does anyone know how to disable the MacBook display when connected to my dual monitor setup. I just want the two external monitors on with the left one as primary when docked.
