Mac OS Catalina keeps disconnecting bluetooth devices

It was my RAM! I replaced my RAM with OWC RAM on my Mac Pro 2013 and I didn’t have any issue all day with Apple Mouse trackpad AirPods magic keyboard for the first time since 2 years!

Would love to know if the above works for others before I try it :)

This solution broke my Bluetooth entirely and now I can't connect to either my keyboard or my headphones.

I'm a brand new MacBook Pro user and am disappointed to find each time the computer goes idle I have to reconnect my bluetooth to my speakers, mixer etc. Reading through the comments and not seeing Apple respond to customers frustrations is not what I wanted to find after purchasing a product for almost $3k. Thumbs Down!! Come on, this is cutting into my productivity to reconnect what is actually showing connected every time.

I agree completely. I have a brand new macbook air with Catalina. The use of a bluetooth mouse is a disaster. It works, then it stops. I tried a fix I found online by deleting files in the system preferences files, and it worked flawlessly for a few hours and then failed again. WFT is wrong with Apple that they put out a new operating system with such a basic problem? I had resisted updating to Catalina on my old air, but it recently died forcing me to update to a new computer.

Please fix this in an immediate update to Catalina!!!!

The best solution I’ve found so far is to turn off Bluetooth and connect my trackpad and keyboard with USB, otherwise I’ll have very bad day... My 2013 Mac Pro will keep disconnecting Bluetooth, eject USB external drives and even get Kernel Panic error screen. When Bluetooth is off I don’t have any problem. I started having these issues after Apple released firmware update in Catalina. It’s been about a year and still no fix from Apple!

After three months of trying things - this fix worked. I opened up TERMINAL and ran:

sudo launchctl stop com.apple.audio.coreaudiod

I was then able to connect my bluetooth earbuds, which was then able to start the coreaudiod successfully

I tried all recent suggestions without any success. But I recently migrated to the new MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020) with Bluetooth 5.0 from Broadcom and 10.15.6 (clean install). Don't see the problem for 2-3 days. The headsets support 5.0 too. FWIW.

Done all fixes suggested to date. Nothing has worked.

I can get bluetooth stable if I only use my magic mouse and keyboard. Adding ANY other device (such as my Sony Bluetooth headphones), and everything starts to have issues. All of the problems others have indicated happen when I have my keyboard, mouse, then any other bluetooth device connected.

On top of that, if I only have the headphones connected, the sound is terrible. It seems like only the left channel is working but quiet and tin sounding, while the right completely disappears. This does not happen on my other Macbook, nor my iphone or wifes' macbook air (brand new). I can also plug it in using the 3.5mm cable, and the sound is perfect again.

I don't remember this happening before Catalina upgrade. So disappointing.

That makes sense to me. None of these other tricks have worked. My 2017 MacBook Pro 13" went in for a fix, I backed up

and deleted everything I could find and asked for a clean install. Not done. That's when things went bad.

My 2018 Mac mini is connected to ethernet also and wifi is turned off. This problem just started happening in the last day or so. I'm also running Big Sur 11.0.1. I had to hook up a USB keyboard just to post this. My Apple BT keyboard, mouse, and trackpad are all having this issue. HAS ANYONE FOUND A FIX??

I have a brand new macbook pro 2019, and the bluetooth it keeps disconnecting every 10 minutes. APPLE please make an update or do something, it's very important for me to use bluetooth.

confirm 10.15.6 - issue still exist, cant use apple magic keyboard and airpods... @apple Do you even think about fixing it?

Just an update. The problem still exists under Big Sur running on an iMac Pro. I guess we might need a completely new thread on that OS's support pages.

Ive been having this issue since last year. MAcbook Pro 2018 here. Wahts going on? Can anybody help? Bluettoh keeps disconnecting like more than 10x a day and its so frustrating!!!
