Hello johnathon196,Â
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! I can see from your message that there is one contact which is not showing the name, but is showing their initials.Â
The Contacts app on your iPhone is used by both the Phone and Messages app. Good thinking trying to delete it and then create a new contact again.Â
The first thing to do will be to verify that you have the latest version of iOS 13 on your iPhone. One of the updates corrected an issue where Messages would display a phone number instead of a contact name. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check for updates. If you need to install any updates, and you have not done so before, you can follow the steps in this article: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.Â
If the issue persists, and you're using iCloud contacts, sign into iCloud from a web browser. Check to see if the contact entry is present. If it is not, try adding it in iCloud and see if it appears correctly on your iPhone. If it does not, that tells us that the iCloud Contacts and your iPhone are not syncing. You'll want to follow the steps in this article: If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders won’t sync.Â
If you contacts are not stored in iCloud, you'll want to check with the account where they are stored.Â
All the best!
