Can't change the label for custom pins in iOS Maps from generic "Marked Location" name

In previous versions of iOS, you could add pins to Apple Maps and create custom names for them so that you know what the pin is. Now, it seems to be impossible to do so in iOS 13. I'm currently on iOS 13.3 and it is still an issue.

The only way I've found to create some kind of labeling is to add it as a favorite and then going to your favorites, and clicking on the "info" circle, and rename the label. This name/label only appears in favorites though, and does not propagate to the actual map or if you add the location to a Collection. All of your pins will still just have the generic "Marked Location" as the label and you won't be able to tell them apart.

This is absolutely ridiculous that Apple broke something so basic in the Maps program, and still hasn't fixed this issue as of iOS 13.3. It also appears that many if not all of my custom pins before iOS 13 are now gone.

As a location photographer I really need to be able to create pins to mark locations and then rename them so that I know what they are. A list of generic "Marked Location" labels for every pin is useless.

Hi f1point0,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you would like to be able to edit the names of Marked locations, without adding them as Favorites or including them in Collections.

I'm glad to help with this.

You can offer this suggestion to Apple using this link: Product Feedback - Apple

Take Care.

No, that's not what I was asking about. I'm trying to have collections of custom pins that don't just show up as a generic list of "Marked Location" items. What's the point of having a collection of custom pins called "Places to visit" when every item in the list is labeled "Marked Location?"

As it stands now, this aspect of the Map application is severely BROKEN, and useless. Steve Jobs would have been furious at a team for letting something so basic slip by the QC process before releasing a service or product to the public. My gut tells me that currently there is just too much group think as a result of bloated middle managers who lead dictatorially, but are incapable in inspiration or innovation.
