iMac and display dust

If you use the Mac in a dusty environment, it is a particularly tough issue to solve. The "dust" that clings to the screen is typically extremely small particle size. True; it may be airborne dust but other things in the air are also prone to causing the issue (i.e. - aerosol over spray (hair spray, deodorant, furniture polish, etc). Extremely dusty environments like an open factory environment will do it quite quickly (perhaps even both sides of the glass).

Tuff to do, & if it was around the edges really tough.

I use open cell foam covered with microfiber taped over the intake & clean it regularly.

Yes, the sponge is also covered with a Microfiber cloth, but the open cell foam has very circuitous routes for the air, so particles crash into walls & pockets in the sponge. Upon cleaning the foam you'll see it's incredibly fine dust that comes out.

Yes, I used a Microfibre cloth to cover the foam, good find on the open cell foam for aquarium filters... was going to mention it since I had Aquarium shop for 44 years. :)

Ah, no pics, only camera I have is in the front of the iMac & has been taped over since before exiting the box. :)

I actually use 3"*5"*1" think sponges, just be sure you can effortlessly blow through it, tape the ends with Duct Tape so as not to block the grill intakes.
