Stolen Iphone and fishing

Dears,

Lost my phone a few weeks ago. Immediately blocked the phone through Find my Iphone and reported to the police in order to block IMEI. In the afternoon, an SMS arrived on the Android device that the phone was found, with a link to the site. But the android did not recognize that the site is not safe and after entering its apple ID, there were no changes. Just logging in from the computer, I saw that the site that had been dropped via SMS was phishing.

Now the question. If fraudsters have access to an Apple ID, but an IMEI is wanted, what can a thief do with this phone and are there any chances to find a phone?

P.S. Androids do not recognize phishing sites well.

If you entered your Apple ID and password in that site, it has been compromised. This has allowed the thief to unlock Activation Lock on the device, and can wipe it, and possibly activate it for themselves, or sell it. Not sure where you live, but I'm not aware of police agencies that use an IMEI to block devices. That would need to be done by the carrier. Police agencies also rarely look for lost/stolen phones, and can only check devices if they come upon one, or someone turns in a found device. Your chances of seeing that phone again are slim to none.

Change your Apple ID password. Now.

If not already enabled, get two-factor authentication going. Now.
