Display turns contrast very high when laptop is open past 90 degrees

For context, I have the MBP 2017 13in.

This issue happened today where I noticed whenever I open my laptop past 90 degrees, the colors become very contrast-y, this happens from 90 degrees to its full extension. However, when I bring the lid back to 90 degrees all the way to close, the colors revert back to normal.

Has anyone run into this issue before? I've tried restarting VRAM/PRAM, turning auto adjustment on/off, but nothing seems to be the trick.
