Using trial version of FCPX, Imported MP4 files that had audio have no audio when in FCPX.

I figured it out. Basically create a Quicktime movie of the video clip in Photo. Here we go. Nothing like sleeping on it.

  1. Gol to Photo
  2. Select Videos only (just to make is easier)
  3. Click on clip you want to import into FCP X
  4. Under 'Image' in Photo click on "Edit with Quicktime Player
  5. Full Screen Video Clip opens up in Quicktime Player
  6. Export as, in my case, 1080 p - (this converts it from a MP4 file to a .mov file - Choose file location -
  7. 'Save'
  8. You will see the export progress.
  9. import the .mov clip into FCP X and Voila you get audio with the clip. - JIm
