Caldigit mini dock gets hot and also makes Macbook 16 inch hot

I bought Caldigit Mini Dock from Apple store, and I use it to connect to two monitors using HDMI.

It gets hot with use, and also makes the Macbook Hot. Could it cause any damage to the laptop or the dock or getting hot is normal?

MacBook Pro 16", macOS 10.15

Hello m82akash,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that your Caldigit Mini Dock and you're MacBook get warmer than expected when connected. I can definitely see how this could be concerning. I'm happy to help.

If you haven't already, test the issue with different cables. Also, take a look at the tips in the following resource for help with managing your MacBook temperature:

Keep your Mac notebook within acceptable operating temperatures

If the issue persists, visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for evaluation.
