Face ID not working

I have an iPhone XS Max, and recently I noticed that the Face ID and front camera were not working properly. I checked the front facing camera and noticed there was what seemed to be condensation inside the lens itself, and as a result of this when I used the front camera it was very blurry, and I assumed this was what was stopping Face ID from working. However, the condensation has now completely gone, and when I take a photo with the front camera the picture is completely normal, as if the phone was brand new; but Face ID still refuses to work. I’ve tried resetting the phone, and resetting my Face ID but it won’t pick up anything when I attempt to scan my face to set it up. I’m assuming it may be a hardware issue due to the condensation, but knowing that water damage is not covered under warranty I’d like to check all bases for software fixes before paying for a repair. Any help would be appreciated
