icloud family sharing: combine two into one?

My wife and I have two 50GB icloud storage plans. We want to upgrade one plan to 200GB, abandon the other one, and share the 200GB one.

How do we move the data from the old 50GB plan (the one we abandon) into the new 200GB plan?

Or does it just happen through the magic of iCloud?

Thanks

First upgrade your storage to 200GB. Then you should become the Family Organizer, share your storage, and invite your wife to join.. She should accept your invitation and opt to share your storage. According to Eric (who I believe) your wife's data will automatically transfer to your storage. You both share the storage space but you still maintain individual storage areas through your Apple IDs.
