Printing

I know this is an Apple product page but you guys know sooooooooooooo much. I have always had Apple products. Over the years I have had Edson, Canon, HP printers. I have never been able to print photos to look like they do on the computer, device whatever. I have tried different settings and of course, you cannot select any print settings on a device. Which brings up another issue. When I print a photo on 8 x 11.5 paper, the photo overfills the page. I use my photos for drawings/paintings so this is an annoyance.
