"An error occured during activation. Try again" Problem with iMessage and FaceTime

I keep on getting this error message on my 13 inch Macbook Pro Retina Display (Mid 2014 Model), running 10.14.6 Mojave.

"Could not sign into iMessage"

"An error occured during activation. Try again"

This error message is coming up whenever I try to sign in to my Apple ID on iMessage and FaceTime. I was having similar problems with my old same Macbook Pro (2 years older late 2012 I think), but it randomly worked and logged in when I kept trying.

I have seen other posts online, articles and things like that suggesting all sorts of ideas like resetting NVRAM, all sorts of combinations of restarting the laptop, signing out and signing in to iCloud. but nothing has seemed to work for the past two days.

Is there any other way, or like a confirmed process to go through?

Thankyou

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

Did you try all the other steps in the link I included?

Try restarting into Safe mode. Hold down the Shift key when restarting. That will force the computer to do certain disk drive maintenance and other OS housekeeping chores. It may take up to 10 minutes to boot to Safe mode so be patient. Here’s how:

Use Safe mode to isolate problems with your Mac - Apple Support

After the safe boot is done and you have logged in to the computer, you can restart the computer again normally. Then try the iMessage and FaceTime logins again.

Hello, D.I. Johnson.

Thankyou for the reply, I have tried reseting the NVRAM multiple times, but it seems to not do much. I wait until the second startup sound to release

Option + Command + P + R

and it restarts the computer, but does not seem to affect the Date & Time settings or sound volume like it says it could.

I'm currently not logged in at all on iMessage and FaceTime because it won't allow me to log in, to be able to sign out like some of the discussion posts suggest.
