Mail characters appearing in Chinese

I’m getting emails (even from Apple) that are in Chinese characters. Also invitations I send through Calendar are showing up in Chinese. Al. My language settings are set to English. What’s going on?

Screenshots are removed if include information that could help to identify you. If your email was seen on the screenshot that’s why it was removed.

Go to https://appleid.apple.com website, sign in to your account and check your account preferences. Make sure your address and language settings are correct.

DO NOT use any links from the email in case this is a fraudulent email.
