iMac has started shutting down by itself

My iMac has started shutting down, when not being used, possibly overnight.

It had a completely new installation of Catalina about 2 months ago.

This is the top of the error message:

panic(cpu 1 caller 0xffffff80172a2d1c): Sleep transition timed out after 180 seconds while notifying applications. Suspected bundle: com.apple.iokit.IOSCSIArchitectureModelFamily. Thread 0x365c0.

Failure code:: 0x02807530 00000011

Does this mean anything to anybody?

Thanks.

You don’t have any third-party kexts installed, so the next most likely cause is hardware. If you have any external devices connected, disconnect them before sleep and see if you still get panics.

If it still panics or you don’t have any external hardware, it may have an internal hardware fault. Take it to an Apple Store or certified repair center for evaluation.

Thanks for that... I normally have 4 x external SSDs attached, and maybe a couple of HDDs, so yes, I'll try ejecting them and see what happens.

What I don't understand is the iMac never shuts down when I'm using it. So, I've today changed the Energy Saver settings so nothing is checked, and the display goes off after 10 minutes - effectively keeping the iMac and all drives awake 24/7.

(Incidentally, the reason for so may drives being attached is they are doing an initial upload to Backblaze.)
