Very dissatisfied - Phobio error and 30% decline of trade-in value

I submitted an iPhone 7 trade in with Phobio worth $120. I received multiple emails from Phobio that my iPhone needed to be de-activated from my iCloud account. I removed this iPhone from my iCloud account, contacting Apple support to ensure that I completed this correctly.

I continued to receive emails from Phobio stating that my iPhone 7 was not de-activated. Eventually, Phobio returned the phone to me because Phobio failed to complete their task.

I attempted to resubmit my trade in request and the trade in value declined from $120 to $80. Phobio refused to acknowledge and correct their error, despite repeated calls and escalations.

Calls to Apple support were equally disappointing as the Apple support person only transferred me back to Phobio support and hung up. I was not able to have a call with both parties at the same time.

Neither will take ownership for this error and each company FAILED to live up to their commitment.

Who do I contact to correct this error so I receive $120 for my trade in?

iPhone 7

Definitely call Apple and ask. Things may have changed and I am out of date, but PhoBio originally only partnered with Apple (just a few years ago at that) for Mac recycling and Apple still dealt exclusively with BrightStar for iPhones and iPads. But maybe things are different now?

When you call Apple, ask for a supervisor or senior support person.

I find it interesting that are no references suggesting a partnership with Apple on Phobio's website. And I could not find a reference to Phobio on Apple.com

I would think if Phobio was indeed a partner, that would be highlighted on their site.

Not sure how you cam to get a connection, but I would be prepared for Apple to not be able to support you on this.
