Upgrading from a MBP 2013 where this wasnt an issue, but wanted a new rig to make editing easier.
with the new MBP there are random moments where a static noise is captured in the recordings. It isn’t heard in the live performance. We have tried over 5 different cables, numerous adapters, power filter, no change. This past weekend tried connecting the old MacBook and no issue.

I bought a USB-C to USB-B cable which still had the static issue. Based on the above would that still be affected by the above? Assuming so, since it would be using the same thunderbolt bus.
does anyone know of a powered hub that they are talking about? Maybe a dock?
I don’t think so since it is in the recording itself not coming through the speakers
are you just taking audio out of the mixer into an interface or is the mixer the interface too via USB?
Mixer is the interface ... Yamaha tf3 usb-b into the MBP.
Assuming you have the Catalina drivers for it, then I think Pancenter may be right...
That's USB 2.0 into the TB adapter?
