"not enough disk space free on this drive"

After a hard drive crash, I re-installed the start up disk, and then used a time machine backup to re-install all my stuff. Everything else seems to be ok, but one of my favorite games gave me the "not enough space" message. I deleted it, and re-installed it from the app store. I keep getting the same message. I am running High Sierra 10.13.6.

Thanks for any advice.

The game is called "The Secret Society", a free download from the Mac app store. I've been playing it for awhile; it's only been since I had to re-install using Time Machine that it has done this. (Maybe that's a clue I forgot to mention.)

When I download it, it doesn't ask where, it puts it in my applications folder.

I've never used Console.
