Earlier this week I reset the SMC successfully, so I know how to do it and tell if it worked. However, I woke up this morning and my MacBook Air (although fully charged) won't turn on, and SMC reset isn't working—lap top isn't making any sounds or screen visials, showing no signs of life.

The unit may have hardware issues; before offering its carcass to the gods of recycle

If other ideas are not forthcoming, issue may be 'hardware'. Seek an opinion from Apple.
