Adobe Digital Editions on MacBook Air

I purchased a Kobo eReader specifically to read eBooks available for free download through my local library. Kobo offers a function called OverDrive from within the device but my library doesn't use or offer OverDrive. My library uses a platform called BorrowBox.

Kobo tech support advise that I can still download books and convert them with Adobe Digital Editions (ADE). The issue is that the Adobe website advises that ADE is only available for iPad and iPhone not my MacBook Air.

My understanding is that the Kobo eReader needs to be plugged into a USB port to transfer books and neither iPad or iPhone has that as an option so I'm stuck. The best solution would be to get ADE to run on my MacBook Air. Can anyone help me with this problem please ?

Hey there, KT2508,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. It seems like you need help with third party hardware and software that you use in conjunction with your MacBook Air. I'm happy to provide you with some information.

To get help with how to transfer your books from your Mac to your Kobo eReader, you will need to speak directly to Kobo: Submit a request – Rakuten Kobo

If you need help with any Adobe software, including how to create the file type your Kobo eReader requires, you will need to speak with Adobe: Contact us - Adobe.

Best!
