Strange audio signal in Logic Pro X (older version)

I've been using my Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2nd gen interface with my Logic Pro X 10.2.0 software for about 2 years now, without any problems. Earlier today, I plugged it in for the first time in maybe a week, and now - instead of registering the input from my bass guitar, as it usually does - it just spits out this weird modulating buzzing sound. I've recorded it and linked it here (for context this is me playing an open E and an open G on my bass, not that you'd be able to tell by listening): https://www.dropbox.com/s/xpaqq1iwwib1gab/logic%20problem%20sound.wav?dl=0

This occurs with both the Scarlett and my old M-Track 2X2, and changing the sample rate only works for a few seconds before returning to this sound. I'm fairly certain that it's a Logic-based issue, since the terminal puts out the message '2020-02-19 21:02:19.010 Logic Pro X[36503:24994617] Audio engine overloaded, resetting' after about 5 minutes each time. Please help if you can!

Thanks,

Callum.
