Remote Desktop 3.9.3 does not remember computer usernames or passwords

For some reason, version 3.9.3 of Apple Remote Desktop on my new 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro refuses to store usernames and passwords for computers in the All Computers list after restarting the Remote Desktop application.

I can temporarily set usernames and passwords by highlighting a computer in the list, choosing File > Get Info from the menu bar, and entering a username and password into the blank fields there:

And after clicking Done, I can connect. But if I quit the Remote Desktop application and run it again, then try to connect to the same computer in the All Computers list, I get this error message:

And the Info window shows the username and password were not saved. 😖

This is not how the app has worked previously. Is anyone else seeing this behavior?
