I yesterday found on my start screen additional user "Other.."

I do not see them in Settings-Users....

What could it be? .. Is somebody connected to my iMac? Can he read my data? My login and passwords? !!

What can I do?

Looking forwards to getting your experience and tip

The "Other" entry available on login screen often means that the root account has somehow become enabled. Normally it should be disabled. You'll find the enable/disable toggle by following this: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204012

Dear keg55,

I opened the instruction .. and see following

Enable or disable the root user

  1. Choose Apple menu () > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups (or Accounts).
  2. Click , then enter an administrator name and password.
  3. Click Login Options.
  4. Click Join (or Edit).
  5. Click Open Directory Utility.
  6. Click  in the Directory Utility window, then enter an administrator name and password.
  7. From the menu bar in Directory Utility:
    • Choose Edit > Enable Root User, then enter the password that you want to use for the root user.
    • Or choose Edit > Disable Root User.

--- but I cannot see something for item 4 etc...
