MacBook Pro 16 shuts down periodically, it has a GPU panic and shuts down. When I press keyboard key to "wake up" my MBP, it makes a hissing sound, reboots and gives me the report about panic shutdown. What is wrong?

Glad those steps helped you, if it comes back, you may need to send it in, I had to have my motherboard and T2 board replaced. Had it back for about a week now, no issues so far.

Thank you, I will do that. First I will stress test it the next week. I still have 10 days left to return it if my fix does not work on the long run. But I’m very optimistic :-).
