My iPhone 11 always freezes and the response to a touch lags a lot whenever I am disconnected from the wifi or having trouble connecting to the wifi. This did not happen on my previous phone, which was an iPhone 7. Why is this happening and how can this be fixed?

I've been having this issue since I bought 11. After 3 months experience, I realized that it randomly happens even though WiFi signal is stable. (There are 3-4 APs at home & work) However, whenever my iPhone 11 has touch lags and freezing issue, the WiFi signal is gone from the phone screen and only shown data network sign(LTE), even though the WiFi is still connected. (I can see this in the WiFi setting)
The ways to get out of this lag is to restart (just like hkWhoa mentioned) or turn off the WiFi setting from swipe down menu.
I hope Apple finds out this issue and fix it ASAP.
Resetting network settings does resolve the freezing up of the internet connection but the problem returns within a few days. I have an unrelated (ongoing) issue that Apple has been unable to resolve. My only option is to completely erase and restore the phone to factory settings to see if this will fix the issue. Perhaps this will also resolve the internet freeze/drop issue. My theory with some of these "buggy" issues is the proliferation of 3rd party apps that can corrupt the operating system. Considering not everyone is having the same problem, it might have to do with the apps we have on our iPhones.
seems like a lot of people struggling with this same issue as me. i was planning to upgrade my 8+ to xs or 11 but i read that some of this unit users having the same prob. well, in my experience with old apple 4, 5, 6, they dont have this kind of issues as long as u are up to date.. i always chose apple product because compared to android, its not freezing often, but now, quite dissapointed as im having this wifi freezing prob! hope apply could fix it. or shame on them.
I agree. We had the iPhone 6 for many years before purchasing these iPhone 11's last December, and never had the problem with the iPhone 6. Unacceptable that it's happening, and even worse, that there appears to be no fix.
Exact same issue for me too! Will keep checking back for an answer. I’ve got an iPhone 11 Pro, but it did it on my iPhone 8 too!
Any update or news from Apple on how to fix the above problem? A quick search of the internet seems to show that this is widespread and most likely a software issue.
Hello! I also have this problem with my iPhone 11, and why is there noone from Apple talking about/addressing this? It's ridiculous when you pay 1,000€ to deal with such an annoying problem!
Glad I’m not the only one. This has been happening since I got my iPhone 11 Pro in November. Freezes/lags 1-2 times a day. Solution is a hard reset or turn off WiFi.

Hello everyone, it seems like the “freeze problem” has completely gone when I updated on iOS14
Here in Oct. '20 with same issue. Still no fix even though I keep current with latest IOS (now 14.0.1). To answer your question, resetting Network Settings does not fix the issue.
Can you tell us if this fix has continued to work for you months later? I've tried resetting network settings many times and the issue is not resolved.
I have version 14.0.1 and problem still exists as it has from day one of owning this phone (December 2019). I had an iPhone 6 previously and never had this problem.

Resetting network settings fixed the problem for me months ago. Haven’t had any issues since.
