iPhone Xs doesn't start up - logo + green screen flashes

Hey all,

My iPhone recently started to restart itself. However it doesn't actually start up. It keeps getting stuck with the logo appearing for a couple of seconds, then a green light flash, and this repeats itself until I shut down my phone (pressing side and volume buttons).

I have successfully restarted before by updating through iTunes. However, this keeps happening.

I have tried restoring but iTunes doesn't allow me to. Also this all started after face ID stopped working and I tried to restart the phone... Not sure if it's related.

Anyone else experiencing this? Any other solutions?

Thanks!!

Hi tinini,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with your iPhone XS. It sounds like the iPhone starts up and gets stuck on the Apple logo until your force restart it.

You mention an attempt to restore your iPhone. That could let you know for sure it is a hardware issue if this continues after restoring to factory settings. Here are the instructions: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings. You would want to be sure you create a backup as described under "Get your device ready".

While I can't speculate that Face ID is involved with this issue, you may want to see these steps as well: If Face ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad Pro.

Have a fantastic day!
