Mac always connects to bluetooth "iphone" and I dont have one?

Hey guys,

I'm very familiar with bluetooth, but this is wierd, hence my post.

My partners mac always connect to something on bluetooth called "iphone".

She doesnt have an iphone, I do.

MY bluetooth is OFF

Her bluetooth is a pixel 2 and also off.

I can remove it from the bluetooth paired devices when I hover over the usual "X" that appears to the right, but i cant forget the device and when I click the X i get a yellow trianlgle error (see images).

I thought it was a new mac update thing....but my mac does not do this.

Any suggestions? Photos attached.

NOTE - Below, when bluetooth is off, it does not say "not connected". As if its part of the mac or something? It does the same when connected. It does NOT say in light white writing underneath "connected"

From the BT icon in the upper right menu bar hold the Shift Option keys and click it open>Debug

Here you have some choices:

Try them in order and see if there is a resolve. No harm any of the choices.

Please post back you success or failure.

Connect a Bluetooth device with your Mac - Apple Support

When I look at the screen for the preferences panel, I see two things. There is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point under the word "Connected". The button reads "Connect" instead of "Disconnect". If the phone was really connected, the button would read read "Disconnect". The yellow triangle with an exclamation point. I interpret this to mean that it couldn't connect because of an error.

What happens if you take the Mac to another location where it would be out of range of any iPhone or bluetooth devices in your home. Could it be trying to connect to an old iPhone? Can you hover the cursor over the triangle or right-click with the cursor over the triangle. This could give more information about the problem. You can also look at the system logs. Furthermore, some problems like this can be fixed by opening in safe mode.
