External speakers have no sound

I have a new IMac with OS Catalina. Music (ITunes) is version 1.0.3.1

I got the new Mac computer last week, and sound came out of both of my external Bose speakers when I was in the Music app (ITunes).

Then I unplugged the new Mac for a few days. I plugged it back in today and sound no longer comes out of the Bose speakers. I hear nothing from the 2 Bose speakers. (Sound and music does come out of the Mac itself though). Not sure if my Bose speakers are wireless or not. I know right now that wires from the Bose speakers are not connected to the back of the Mac computer. None are connected. I think the Bose speakers are about 7 to 8 years old, not sure though. I can't remember the setup last week when the Bose speakers worked and had sound.

I went into System Preferences, then Bluetooth. It lists only Magic Mouse and the keyboard, not Bose speakers.

I then went into System Preferences, then Sound. For output, it only lists the internal speakers.

For input, it only lists the internal microphone. Bose speakers are not listed.

The 2 Bose speakers both worked when I first hooked up the new Mac a week ago. Then I unplugged the Mac for a week.

Then I plugged the Mac in again yesterday. Now no sound comes from the Bose speakers. I can't remember if any of the wires from the Bose speakers were connected to the back of the Mac last week when the Bose speakers worked. I know that right now none of the wires from the Bose speakers are connected to the back of the Mac. And I now get no sound at all from the Bose speakers. I do get sound from the internal speakers in the Mac.

These must be powered speakers (meaning they have their own internal amplifier). Is there a volume control on one of the speakers or a mute button? Do these Bose speakers have a power supply? Are the speakers plugged into the power supply? Is the power supply plugged into the wall outlet? Are they turned ON? Is there a fuse or circuit breaker on the speakers that may have blown out or has been tripped? I really don't know what you have got there. That is why I suggested trying to download an owners manual for the speakers, so you could read it and see what kind of controls and connections are possible. If they worked at first then either something changed or some connection was lost or there is no power to the speakers. That's all I've got. Good luck.
