Stocks app - does not sync via iCloud

I just upgraded to Catalina, so the Stocks app is available on Mac. I'm trying it but I cannot get my stocks list to sync, Mac to iPhone, or for that matter between 2 iPhones.

I have checked the iCloud settings box for Stocks on all 3 devices. On the phones, I got the message saying "What would you like to do with existing local Stocks data on your iphone?" I selected "Merge". But on my 3 devices, where I had different lists, nothing has merged. I tried adding a new stock symbol on one device, and I don't see it on others. Have tried making changes on all 3 devices to see if it works from any of them. Have tried restarting all devices. Still no luck. Other than this Stocks app, I use iCloud for other things and have had no problems. I am definitely signed into my iCloud account and everything else is working.

See this Apple document. Use the same Stocks watchlist on your Mac, iPhone, and iPad https://support.apple.com/guide/stocks/stocks-watchlist-mac-iphone-ipad-st60e8b8ef98/mac

You will not be able to see your stocks watchlist on iCloud.com.

I see. The sync process will work only for devices on iCloud with the same Apple ID. Maybe family sharing is what you'd like to use. See these Apple reads on Family Sharing.

If you boot into the Safe Mode, will they sync?

Safe Mode - About. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown. If the log won’t post, try posting it in Pastebin and provide a link in a reply. After pasting the report in a PasteBin page, go to the top of the page, and copy the address in the URL bar. Paste that in a new reply. Pastebin. https://pastebin.com/

Reinstall Macbook, iphone, ipad twice with a clean system. There are no sync stock quotes on the ipad either. I also noticed that with every reinstallation of any device from scratch without restoring the backup copy, the old list of stock quotes that I changed 5 years ago on all devices is uploaded to me. And new stock quotes are no longer added to icloud ...
