I've had this problem for almost 2 months so far . Everytime my phone screen turns on/off, it should just fade to black but it fades into white instead.
I am currently running IOS 13.3.1

It looks like no one has responded to your question about the locking/unlocking your iPhone. Here are a couple of things that might help others answer your questions:
Dark Mode: Settings > Display & Brightness
Smart Invert: Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Smart Invert
