iPhone X freezes after use of emojis in any app, especially Whatsapp/instagram

My iPhone does the same. I had a 7 plus and it did it. I upgraded to the iPhone 11 and it STILL did it. So so annoying. Freezes no matter what app I’m in. If I send an emotji, the phone locks up and I cant do anything.

So finally I googled and found my way here. I reset my keyboard dictionary and it seems to have completely fixed this issue.

Ive read some responses and I think some people are misunderstanding what they’re supposed to reset. You DONT reset your whole phone. JUST the keyboard dictionary. It won’t delete any apps or pics or anything.

Apple should be figuring out a fix. I’ve been dealing with that issue for close to a year.

My phone iphoneX started to freeze after I use an emoji.. I first realised when I was using whatssup so I have ereased all the data on whatssup I also have more then half of my memory unused.. The problem seemed resolved and I was happy.. However it started happening again.. Then I realised that its not a Whatssup app problem because it was happening in Facebook and instagram as well.. Very annoying.. I now did whats suggested with volume up volume down and side button press.. it didnt go away.. Then I have now reset the Keybord settings 😊 and it looks like the issue is resolved.. Hope it doesnt come back.. I cant go back to factory settings, There are loads of data thay I need which I am not sure if I recover or not.. And dont want to risk teying to find out.. This is my third iphone (4-6-10) first time facing an issue of any kind .. very disaapointed hope its gone and wont come back..

I have Exactly the same issue since few months now with my iPhone XS Max..!!!!!!!

I called apple and the technician said it must be a corrupted file, we did the reset and restore but still same problem and it’s annoying like ****.. it’s easy for Apple to tell us reset to factory setting.. I need my files and my life I built on my phone.. !!! Apple is known to be safe and they get their customers back.. it happens when chatting and it’s getting into my nervous.. I love apple and I’m a loyal customer but come on..!!! DO SOMETHING Apple 😠

You are the GOAT for this!!! Been dealing with this crap for almost a year myself, didn't upgrade from the XS Max yet, was just holding out, both my kids have the 11 so I said I'd just wait. Been trying any and everything, even going a few months without using emojis altogether.

Thus started happening to me back in September 2020 and I called Apple Support and had a discussion. They insisted that I need to bring my iPhone for a hardware check and I insisted that it’s purely a software issue after the iOS 13 update. They were eventually convinced of my point of view and ran software diagnostics on my phone then monitored my phone activity in the background for 24 hours and analyzed the results and BAM they did discover a bug in iOS. It’s been like 9 months and the bug is still not fixed. 9 months of pure suffering and being unable to normally use my phone.

I had this with my iPhone XS and was getting really annoyed at having to restart my phone - I thought it was my phone ‘dying’ so decided to upgrade early and get iPhone 11 and after 4 days - same thing happening 🤷🏼‍♀️ Deleted Bitmoji and other apps (after being told that I had downloaded some dodgy app) and still happening 😭😭😭 I have tried to reset keyboard etc and we shall see 😳🤔 never had this problem before - it’s like I am typing to quick for the phone to keep up and if I put an emoji in then that’s it - phone frozen 😡

Yes exactly and rather than trying to blame the cell network which clearly isn’t the issue here as it’s widespread across networks...

That’s odd. I did it yesterday and so far it has solved it... however I have lost all apps etc but worth it so at least I can use my iPhone 🙈

And it’s been this way for about 6 months. Spent £1500 on a phone it shouldn’t struggle like this. HIGHLY annoying.

I have the same situation on my iphone X max. If I use an emoji my iphone freezes for a minute or so.

My only solution is to stop using emojis.

I’m about to test this like right now! Should I remove the GIF keyboard too?
