How can I connect an Airport Extreme to an Etisalat connection ?

I have an Apple Airport Extreme. I am unable to connect it to the Etisalat (Local Internet Service Provider). I have spoken with Apple over the phone and they could not fix the issue and they asked me to speak with my ISP. Etisalat apparently operate a PNP (Plug and Play) system that prevents non-PNP router from connecting to their network. Obviously Apple Airport is not a PNP router. Etisalat are asking for some money to disable the PNP and the technician tells me that any subsequent visit for any internet issue will insure some extra charge as well

I have tried to connect via PPPoe protocol with my internet username and password (I checked it and it is definitely functional) but no luck.

Still ask for DNS. I input a working DNS with no luck. still not connecting to the internet.

Can anybody help please in bypassing the PNP?

thanks

Apple routers are extremely (sic) limited in functionality. It was designed by Apple basically to work with US cable suppliers.

In the past I could not use it with PPPOE on my ISP. And there is simply no access to anything beyond what Apple consider necessary.

In the present you cannot use it with any ISP that use vlan on WAN. That is what Etisalat use. Apple routers do not support vlan on WAN period.

Sorry but use whatever router Etisalat supply or recommend.

You can plug the airport into whatever router does support their service and continue to use it if you wish.
