I'm uploading a garage band audio file to apple music. I'm saving it to my computer and then importing it to apple music but I'm unable to change media type. The only option is music.
How can I get the option for podcast?

Thanks for the reply and clarification. MP3 and WAV files are general audio file formats, so it sounds like it would be normal for these files to show categorized as Music when imported in the Music app. In macOS Catalina, there are some changes to iTunes as shown here: What happened to iTunes? I tested the built-in Podcasts app and there's not a way to import a podcast like you would with music in iTunes, so importing the file into the Music app as a general audio file may be your best option.

To clarify a few points, which format did you export to? For example, .m4a, .m4v, or something else? For reference, this has some information about enhanced podcast formatting: GarageBand for Mac: Enhanced Podcasts (.m4a, .m4v). Depending on the format you used when exporting, you might try re-exporting with one of those formats.
Which macOS version are you using?
When you say you're uploading or importing the file to Apple Music, are you referring to adding it to the Music app in macOS Catalina? Or are you trying to upload this as a podcast that people can download?

I have macOS Catalina. I first tried mp3 and then Wav but when trying to put in apple music the media kind was only music. There were no other options.
