Flagged emails count wrong

I deleted all flagged emails from the folder and still shows as 25, despite having nothing in the folder. how can I clean that folder and delete everything?

flagged emails The flagged virtual "folder" is not accurately keeping track of what is flagged. While the list of emails in the folder is right, it also shows emails that were flagged which I subsequently unflagged. Why is the count of items, and the actually flagged emails not in sync? Mail should remove the unflagged messages from the folder as I unflag them. See the image below. Thanks for your feedback.

Flagged emails Where has the folder with "Flagged emails" gone and how do you get it back. Searched the message boards to no avail. Big Sur has done nothing to add to the UI... Thanks, Nick
