Pasting Japanese into Pages from Google Sheets

Hello! I want to paste a column of a sheet (that is in Japanese) from Google Sheets into a Pages table and it is giving me these random characters instead of the Japanese kana - anyone ever have a similar problem? My Japanese keyboard still works it's just pasting that gives me this gibberish. I'd rather not type out some 500 phrases...

Every time I try to input an Eastern Arabic numeral (١٢٣٤٥٦٧٨٩٠) into the document, it switches it automatically to a Western Arabic numeral (1234567890). Does Pages have any way to prevent breaking Asian text across lines? I'm creating a document in which several Japanese words and phrases appear. When I export this document as an ebook, the Japanese strings can break across lines as the document reflows; for example: ...a new type of fountain pen burst onto the market. Called “pocket pens” (ポケットペン, pokettopen), these pens appeared... in HTML, I can prevent these breaks by enclosing the Japanese text in a <span> tag: <span style="white-space: nowrap;">ポケットペン</span> Is there any way I can do this in Pages?

text garbling from AppleScript to Numbers I want to write Japanese text with AppleScript in Numbers. but the text was garbled when outputting Japanese to Numbers with AppleScript. I already has attempted to cast the text as String, Unicode text or «class utf8». but all of them failed... (For example it changes like this: 価格 -> ??, 量 -> ?, 合計 -> ??) Please tell me how to output Japanese from AppleScript to Numbers correctly!!

It’s not random, just an encoding difference, pages for some reason is probably reading the utf8 as Latin . Not sure how best to fix that at the moment...

PS Is there any way to choose the encoding when you save your doc in google sheets? If so, choose utf-16 and then try your copy/paste operation.
