The split menu option is grayed out and not available when I follow these directions.

I have QuickTime 10.5 on my MacBook Pro and when I follow the Apple directions for editing an mp4 file, ONLY the trim edit function is available in the edit menu. All other editing functions, eg, split, insert, etc are grayed out and not available.

Hello rkrandolph,

Thank you for your reply.

Since this is happening both while using safe mode as well as when tested in another user account, let's continue to isolate this further.

Check to see if you have any updates available for your Mac: How to update the software on your Mac.

Take care.
