Windows and Joysticks on my iMac

I want to run a Windows-based flight simulator (Condor 2) on my iMac (latest Catalina OS). I know I need to install Windows using Boot Camp but I do need a joystick (and perhaps rudder controls). Can I use any Windows-compatible joystick (e.g. a Microsoft Precision Sidewinder 2) or do I have to stick with joysticks only compatible to Apple?
